After the success of his student, Kempton Roll, in organizing the metal powder companies, Hausner became editor of the journal and conference proceedings for 25 years - International Journal of Powder Metallurgy and Modern Developments in Powder Metallurgy. He co-chaired meetings, edited handbooks including the Handbook of Powder Metallurgy. At the meeting held by this group during the month of March , it was agreed that the outlook for homogeneous reactors was considerably Study, USAEC Report ORNL, Oak Ridge National.

In addition, other meetings were held by smaller groups; for example, “the Boston group” held a meeting on J , between meetings of the Executive Committee on May 23 and August 8. Davis, The AEC also assumed responsibility for uranium mining and refining activities. In addition, nonmilitary atomic research laboratories were under development at Argonne, near Chicago; Brookhaven on Long Island; and Oak Ridge.

Some information, such as medical research and treatment with radioisotopes, was openly available. A book about the design of the Shippingport plant was published. The operator of the Shippingport reactor was the Duquesne Light Company.

Building started in April ; commercial operations began in May This reactor was a MWe unit and cost $ million to build.

The fuel was UO 2 with zircaloy-2 cladding and hafnium control rods.
